                                     The Murder On Train Number 76

   Background information:
   
   On Sep 20th, from LA to San Francisco, there was a murder case happening on

   the train number 76.  The name of the victim was Edward Pryne, the owner of  a

   manufacturing company.  According to the investigation, there were six people

   being suspected of doing this murder.  

   Goal of the game:

   The major goal of the game is to find out who the really killer is.

   Rules of the game:

   There will be a game master except the six players when the game is played.  During

   the period of time the game is played,  the players can consult the game master if 

   they have questions.  The game master's responsibility is to make sure that if the 

   game is run correctly and well.  Every player should follow the instructions of the

   game when it is played.  No one can lie except the killer.  Besides the six main roles

   in the game, one player must play as the detective or police officer to judge who the

   killer is.

   Cast:

   Bill Conard:

   The train assistant, who is a very ordinary person like the all the other people in the
  
   world.  He has been working as the assistant for more than twenty years.  He was

   actually a classmate and good friend of Edward's at that time.  Somehow, they

   lost contact with each other afterwards.  To the colleagues, Bill has always been a

   

   hardworking  and nice fellow to get along with.

   Mrs. Cecilia Pryne:
   
   Edward's pretty and intelligent wife.  Their marriage has been lasting for 15 years

   but they don't have children because of her inpregnancy.  Since they met each other

   in college, they have been complemented as a pair of model and suitable couple.

   Mr. Arthur smith:        
 
   He was one of the employees in Edward's company.  In people's eyes, he was a

   diligent and hard-working employee.  He have been working in the company for

   more than 15 years.

   Mrs. Susan Smith:

   Arthur's good wife.  She has always been generous and responsible wife according

   to friends and relatives.  Edward was her classmate when she studied in the college.

   Mr. Jonathan Erwin:

   Edward's cousin, who grew up together with him and was a very close friend to

   Edward.  Their relationship with each other was just like brothers.

   Mr. Roger Anderson:

   A quiet and serious guy.  He has the partnership with Edward in the company.  

   Actually, he treated Edward as a real good friend, though it wasn't seen by the

   others.











   
   
   Part One: 

   Train Assistant: ( The following message should have been read out to all the
                               people who plays this game.)

   You have been admiring for Cecilia for quite a long time.  That's why you are still

   not married now.  Once you hated Edward very much that he robbed your beloved

   Cecilia from you.  During all these years, you tried to forget about this.  But it was

   totally in vain.  The more you tried to forget, the more agonized you became.

   Today, accidentally, on the train, you met Cecilia and Edward.  What a surprise!

   This arouse your pain in the heart.  Cecilia--still as beautiful as before.  And Edward,

   though look much older, he seemed  to be very successful in his business.  You

   envied him so much that you wanted him to die!

   Cecilia: ( The following information should be read out in front of the players)
  
   You still love Edward as before.  And the relationship between you and Edward

   still seems good to others.  But somehow, during the recent years, Edward didn't

   seem to love you as before.  He was busy working all the time.  And you felt very

   lonely that you became a friend with Edward's cousin, Jonathan.  You can see that  

   he was mad about you but Edward is still your best love and your prime concern. 

   But recently, you found out something really shocking and unbearable that Edward

   dared to have an affair with a woman.  You had a strong feeling of being betrayed.
   
   Though he didn't seem to love you anymore, you always have the hope that  you
 
   could make up with him someday.  But now, everything seems to be too late. 
    
    

   

   

      
   
   Mr. Arthur Smith:   * You are the killer *
   (The following text should be read out in front of the players.)
   You are a faithful employee.  You worked hard and behaved well.  You treated 

   Edward not only as a friend but also a respectful friend.  Working with him you felt

   so happy and relaxed.  Both of your family members know each other well and

   sometimes, you go on the vacation together.  Several days ago, you accidentally

   heard a conversation between your wife and Edward on telephone that you knew

   they had an affair.  You were  shocked and couldn't believe it because you love  

   your wife more than yourself.  Being married for more than fifteen years, you knew 

   that your wife was the exact one you had loved and would love forever.

   Mrs. Smith: (The following message should be read out in front of the players.)

   You are a nice mother and wife in people's eyes.  But you have never loved your

   husband.  The real person you love is Edward Pryne.  He was once a classmate of 

   yours in college.  You admired him very much from the first sight in college, but he

   seemed to not even pay attention to you.  You were once very sad and angry with

   him until you met your present husband who was working in Edward's company.

   You tried every way to be close to Edward and finally had an affair with him.  The

   eldest child of yours was born by you and Edward.  But, you kept it very secretly

   that nobody knows this except Edward and you.

   Mr. Erwin: ( The following information should be read out loud.)

   Your relationship with Edward was more than cousins.  You grew up together and

   you treated each other as brothers.  And you really looked like real brothers because

   of the appearance and similar life styles.  But after you met Cecilia, everything was

   



   different.  You loved her from the first sight you saw her.  She was kind, pretty,

   and intelligent.  She was the one you'd like to get married, if only she was single.

   Day after day, you found out that she was quite a lonely person so you tried to

   spend your time chatting with her.  She is now a  good friend of yours.

   Mr. Anderson,

   You are a friend and partner of Edward's.  You worked with him for long.  But 

   recently, your investigation in the stock market turned out to be absolutely wrong

   that you lost lots amount of money and you need money badly now.  You mentioned

   this to Edward but only got indifference and cold in return.  He didn't help you and

   instead, he seemed to intend to buy the ownership of stock you have in the company.

   You are so angry to find out the dark side of Edward.  And you felt like giving him

   a revenge someday. 

   Part Two:

   According to the police, Mr. Edward Pryne was murdered by being pushed out of

   the train when it was moving.

   During that day on the train .....

   Train Assistant:

   You were almost out of mind by seeing the person you dreamed about every night.

   But she seemed to be not very happy from her facial expression.  Just a few minutes

   before, she saw her secretly talking with another male passenger about something.

   Cecilia:

   At first, you were very happy about this trip you'd spend with Edward.  But, after

   seeing Mrs. Smith secretly talked to Edward intimately, you started to doubt that

   


   she was the one your husband had affair with.

   Mr. Smith:

   Your hatred toward Edward became deeper and deeper everytime you thought of 

   the adultery.  You are even not happy about your promotion several days ago.  You

   swore that you'd let him pay for this.

   Mrs. Smith:

   You felt happy and afraid about the trip you are taking.  As long as being with the

   person you love, everything will be all right.

   Mr. Erwin:

   You had a quarrel with Edward this morning because you wanted him to treat Cecilia

   well.  You were so angry that you want to kill him so that you could enjoy everything

   he has now.  On the train, you talked to Cecilia about this secretly but was seen by

   train assistant and stopped by Cecilia angrily.

   Mr. Anderson:

   Your financial problem was still not solved.  So you came here, too, to beg for 

   Edward's help.  But it seemed that Edward still didn't want to help and you almost

   felt into a quarrel.

   Part Three:

   The investigation of Edward's death report showed that before he was murdered,

   he had a fight with the murderer.  And several bruises were found on his body.

   Several days after:

   From Mrs. Smith, the police found a letter written by Edward sending to her:

   Dear Susan,

        During these years, I knew your feelings about me and I am really sorry for not

   playing a good role of a father and a husband.

        I want you know that I really love you and our son.  Would you please let us

   be real father and son by the declaration of law?  As for Cecilia, she love children

   very much, so she will take care of him very well.  Please give me your admission

   very soon!  I promise I will compensate for you and your husband.  You won't have

   to worry about money the rest of your life.

   The End:
